We do small electrical renovation if you need to add some outlets and switch or a few lights GREAT

By code if wire are drill close to the edge  of the wood it will need a metal plate

This will prevent any damage to the wire by drywall screw when installing drywall

By code a metal plate put in place to avoid damage to wire 

As you can see in the image that's the right way to do that

New outlets are install and staple neatly on the stud with all the other holes  drill in center of the joints

All holes  to be center of the joints. however in a any corner it's normal for the holes to drill slightly to the edge to get the electrical around to the other side. See(first image) it must support with a metal plate see (second image)
